Senior Manager – GI Capital

Qualified Actuary required for a role the Senior Capital Manager for a leading Insurance company. The main focus of this role is to manage the capital team as well as developing the Solvency II requirements.
Key Responsibilities;
• Assist the Head of Actuarial with defining the GI strategy for implementing risk appetite, capital assessment and reinsurance, with continuous improvement initiatives and representing the business on capital externally as appropriate
• Maintain regular dialogue with business areas to ensure they understand the drivers impacting the levels of capital required so that business decisions are taken with this in mind
• Liaise closely with other GI teams to embed and allocate capital within the business, working with Pricing and other Business Partners to ensure everyone uses capital appropriately in their view of business performance
• Responsible for developing and implementing models and actuarial techniques for capital assessment, including premium provisions within the Claims team
• Assist Head of Actuarial in his role as Business Partner to wider Finance teams, Risk and managing relationships with reinsurers and FSA
Candidates should come from GI modelling backgrounds. The role doesn’t require someone too technical in they’re outlook but someone who is capable of looking at capital in a more strategic way. Candidates can be anywhere from newly qualified actuaries to significant post qualification experience.
