Nearly Qualified – Financial Reporting Actuary

Responsibilities would include:
• To assist the Financial Reporting Team Leader and Deputy Team Leader with their responsibilities for carrying out actuarial valuations and related calculations.
• To assist with the production of all internal and external financial reporting measures for the NPSF business unit, including Peak 1, Peak 2, EEV, MCEV, ICA, IFRS and SII results.
• Experience and skills would ideally include:
• Senior student or qualified actuary, ideally including recent exposure to financial reporting and actuarial modelling within a life assurance company. Good knowledge of the business unit products and regulatory environment would also be useful.
• Ability to take decisions, make things happen and overcome obstacles based upon well developed analytical skills.
• Ability to confidently express own viewpoint and to communicate financial results and complex actuarial issues to team leader, subject matter experts and others clearly and succinctly.
• The ability to motivate, organise and maintain a subset of the team to bring a piece of work to completion ready to be signed off and reported.
• Ability to develop team members through coaching and mentoring.
