Head of GI Economic Capital Management

Reporting to the GI Actuarial Director, you will -
• Lead, guide and support our client’s Market teams in calculating GI Economic Capital, drive consistent methods, processes and practices
• Lead the regular internal review and challenge Available and Required Economic Capital for GI businesses, resolve issues with market teams/ Group and recommend sign-off
• Provide business and market context to Group GI Capital on the performance of the GI business
• Lead support for reporting presentation of results to investors and analysts
• Monitor risks and contribute to an effective risk management system.
• Lead identification and delivery of required developments in line with their evolving GI Economic Capital landscape, advising on issues and making strategic recommendations where appropriate
• Build key internal and external stakeholder relationships and manage the integration of the department with others, critically across the markets and with Group, so as to deliver a better service to the business
• Subject Matter Expert strategic support and guidance to evolving Group GI Economic Capital policy, e.g. SII

Knowledge, skills and experience required
• Deep and broad understanding of the business and general insurance industry
• Broad understanding of the external environment and of modern actuarial skills, processes and techniques
• Knowledge of emerging GI actuarial modelling packages
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and influence at senior management level
• Significant experience in general insurance required
